‘Rare Earth Elements: The Intersection of Science and Society’

As part of the Rare Earth Elements Project, The Science History Institute is hosting an upcoming event which will be moderated by Ira Flatow, eminent science journalist and host of NPR’s “Science Friday.” It will also feature notable researchers from around the world who will be discussing the significance and use of rare earth elements in today’s society – from the challenges faced when mining these precious metals to the environmental and health implications resulting from their extraction.
