Jewish Dissident Lecture Series: Elie Wiesel, When A Dissident Sets the Agenda for Establishment

Join us as scholar Dr. Michael Berenbaum discusses the dissident Elie Wiesel.
When one thinks of Elie Wiesel one imagines him as the embodiment of Jewish values and a central part of the Jewish community. The early Wiesel was a dissident, a dissident with respect to the God of Israel, with regard to the values and aspirations of the American Jewish community, on behalf of Soviet Jewry condemning American Jewry as the Jews of Silence, against Jewish passivity, indifference and complacency.
