A Taste of Passover

The grocery shelves may be stocked with pink rabbits and chocolate eggs, but what are those strange foods labeled “Kosher for Passover” stacked on the end cap of just one aisle?  Those foods are some of the ingredients that go into preparing the Passover meal. But, what does the food taste like? How is it prepared and why is it eaten?

Answers to these and other questions, along with a delicious meal that includes wine and dessert, will be provided at Congregation Am HaYam’s A TASTE of PASSOVER.

A Taste of Passover is designed for those with a curious palate who want a chance to experience the tastes, smells and textures of an exciting array of Passover dishes reflecting the many traditions of Passover from around the world.  All food will be prepared by Congregation Am HaYam members and a recipe book will be provided to those who attend.

All are invited to attend. Congregation Am HaYam, the only Conservative Jewish congregation between Thousand Oaks and San Luis Obispo, is located at 4839 Market Street, Unit C, Ventura.  Services are held the first and third Friday nights and Saturday mornings of each month.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased here.

1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m, at a private home in Channel Islands Harbor. The address and directions will be provided upon ticket purchase.
