Goodbye Leonard Cohen

I have loved Leonard Cohen for as long as I can remember. I am not sure when exactly I was introduced to him, or what the first work of his that resonated with me was, but he is entwined in the fabric of my life. I love this man with a piece of my heart that is reserved for few.

I spent most of 1989 in the hospital and Mr. Cohen played a huge role in my recovery. Years later when I saw him in concert for the first time, I was so overwhelmed to be so close to him that I could not stop crying and don’t remember hearing a single thing he said.

His words, thoughts, music, and conversations during his concerts mattered to me. He spoke to me in ways I always understood and never questioned. That's the thing about Mr. Cohen, it always felt like he was talking to me. My love and respect for him is personal.

He was magic and his soul will forever be connected to mine. He was loved by people all over the world and I send my heartfelt condolences to everyone who knew and loved him. Rest in Peace Mr. Cohen. Goodbye Friend. I love you and am keeping the faith.
