I
If only they had
stopped and asked for directions.
Less than forty years.

Tough choice: Succumb to
approaching Egyptians or
walk into the sea.

Walls of water, and
a cloud pillar protects us
from the swords behind.

Egyptians think the
space between water walls is
for them too. It’s not.

One of our oldest
traditions began in the
desert – complaining.

Los Angeles poet Rick Lupert created a the Poetry Super Highway (an online publication and resource for poets), and hosted the Cobalt Cafe weekly poetry reading for almost 21 years.
