Dear all,
I saw this sign posted recently while touring the backstage of a theatre. At first I chuckled at the absurdity of the warning. It’s common sense, right?
But I’ve been thinking about it all week. Sometimes we need reminders, gentle or abrupt, about things that should be common sense, and yet seem to get lost in the course of our day:
- Do not be quick to judge another
- Look both ways
- Step to the side when an elevator door opens
- Do not insult others
- Save room for dessert (that’s a given, right?!)
- Make time to do the important things in life
-
Call your mother/ brother/ college friend/ aunt- they would LOVE to hear from you
Yes – it all seems so obvious. But it often takes a moment in time to remind ourselves not only to think about these things – but to DO them.
With love and Shalom,
Rabbi Zach Shapiro
