“Monument to the Fallen,” 2018

The Monument to the Negev Brigade, overlooking Beersheba, is a memorial to 324 Palmach Negev Brigade members who died in the 1948 War of Independence. The 18 segments that make up the site, designed by Dani Karavan and built from 1963-68, cover 2 1/2 acres. Its stark, undulating forms recall natural, weathered stone and sand formations of the region, as well as symbolically representing battles. “Monument to the Fallen” is part of PassagetoIsrael.org.
