Moss Gallery’s exhibition, “Peter Shire — The Creative Synapse: Fantasies, Drawings, Sculptures.” Included among Shire’s maquettes — relating to his public artworks displayed as close as Los Angeles, and as far as Japan — are Judaica pieces like his gouache on paper titled, “Angel and Menorah,” and an aluminum and enamel sculpture called, “Peace Dove Menorah.”

Don’t let the lights go out before you’ve had a chance to see them. Closing this week is the Skirball’s Hanukkah Lamps From Italy exhibit. The six lamps depict diverse design influences, from the architectural, to angels and mythological figures, to exotic birds and other decorative motifs of the 17th century. They’re on view through Dec. 31.</p>
