Yossi Shain is an academic specializing in international relations, comparative politics and diaspora politics.

He formerly headed the political science department at Tel Aviv University, and from 1999 to 2003 was the “Goldman Visiting Professor of Government” at Georgetown University.

At present he holds a dual-appointment at both Georgetown and TAU.

Shain wrote and edited six books, and published numerous articles in other books and periodicals. He received the award of the American Political Science Association, as well as the book of the year award from the Israeli Union of Political Science.

He is married to Nancy and has two children.
