Fred Lazin joined the faculty at Ben-Gurion University in Israel in 1975, where he established an Interdisciplinary Program in Urban Studies and the Department of General Studies.

In 1991 Fred became the Lynn and Lloyd Hurst Family Professor of Local Government. He recently completed a term as chair of the Department of Politics and Government at BGU.

Previously, Lazin was a lecturer at UCLA, NYU, CUNY, Cornell and George Washington University.
