Light at the End of the Tunnel

I am having one of those days.  I am over thinking, over analyzing, over stressed, and over tired. I don’t do well when I’m not in control, and I am faced with a series of things that require time to sort themselves out. Patience is not my forte, so you can imagine how hard waiting is for me. I want things sorted now.

I spoke with my older sister this morning and shared what was going on with me.  She did not say much really, just listened, and let me know she was there for me.  She was calm, supportive, kind, and quiet.  She said everything by saying nothing and it mattered to me. She is wonderful and I love her very much.

A few minutes after our call, my sister sent me the email below. It made me smile and put my day into perspective.  I am sharing it with you because maybe it will matter to you also.  People are struggling and this is something they need to know.  It is something we all need to know and believe.

Dear (Insert Name Here):

Please be advised that we are experiencing technical difficulties due to recent trouble, and we have had to turn off the light at the end of the tunnel.  We are working to correct this problem, and hope that you are doing okay.  Please be patient until the light comes back on.

It will be fixed soon.  We are sorry for the darkness that you are in right now, but we assure you it will be bright again.  Just believe, don’t panic, and know you are not alone.  Again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Hold on to something solid and you will see the light again soon.

Thank you.

I am going to be fine, because I always am.  You will be fine too because light follows the dark.  If you are struggling today, know that you can hold onto me until the light comes back on.  Know that. I am making my way through the tunnel, searching for light, and keeping the faith.
