Google ordered to stop recommending anti-Semitic sites

A court in Buenos Aires has ordered Google to stop recommending anti-Semitic and racist websites to users. The injunction issued May 17 comes following a complaint filed by several Jewish organizations. The decision came on the World Day of the Internet.

Mass graves database to go online

Information gleaned from Father Patrick Desbois\’ years-long search for mass Jewish graves in Eastern Europe will be made available on a database. Desbois\’ organization, Yahad-In Unum, has joined with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and the American Jewish Committee to set up an online database of his findings since 2004 of mass graves in more than 600 towns and villages in Belarus, Ukraine, Russia and Poland.

JTA launches online archive with a quarter-million articles

JTA has launched a digital archive containing 250,000 articles dating from 1923. The JTA Jewish News Archive, which is searchable and free for the public to use, was launched officially Tuesday evening with a celebration at the Center for Jewish History in New York.\n

World Press Freedom Day: New technology’s threats and potential

Newspaper readers might notice an empty white space in place of front page stories in their favorite broadsheets and tabloids on Wednesday morning. It’s part of a campaign organized by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers to mark World Press Freedom Day. Larry Kilman, WAN’s executive CEO told The Media Line that the idea is to “remind [readers] that without a free press, this is what the industry would look like.”
