After 30 years of being out of print, “Yiddish Sayings Mama Never Taught You” by Marvin S. Zuckerman and Gershon Weltman is back with the coarse, earthy language and saucy Yiddish folk sayings that made it a favorite when it first appeared in 1975. Arbeter Ring and Yiddishkayt L.A. are throwing a re-launch party (adults only!) with the authors, with books for purchase and refreshments. Sat. 8 p.m. $5 (members), $10 (general).

DJ AM headlines this year’s Justice Ball, an evening of music, dancing, socializing and fun benefiting Bet Tzedek-The House of Justice, which provides free legal and social services primarily in the areas of housing, health care and employment for Los Angeles’ most vulnerable. The theme is “Justice in LaLa Land,” and the event will be hosted by KTLA’s Jessica Holmes at the newly renovated Hollywood Palladium. Sat. 9 p.m. $50 (general), $150 (VIP).
