Yiddish Concert of Two Troubadours: Mordechai Gebirtig & Chava Alberstein presented by the California Institute for Yiddish Culture and Language (CIYCL)

Join renowned Yiddish folk singer, CINDY PALEY, and the Golden State Klezmers, Zinovy Goro, clarinet, Isaac Sadigursky, accordion and Miamon Miller, violin, for a concert of Yiddish folksongs by Mordechai Gebirtig and Chava Alberstein. Gebirtig is regarded as the most widely sung, most prolific and most famous composer of folk-style Yiddish songs about Jewish life in prewar Poland. Chava has written new music for some of the 20th century’s greatest Yiddish poets. Lyrics & translations provided.
