University Women Lunch and Learn- Filling The Gaps: Giving Voice to Biblical Women Through Modern Midrash

An author panel, featuring Jonathan Kirsch, Michal Lemberger, and Paul Boorstin will explore the perils of reinterpreting Biblical stories, and how they create a tapestry of meaning, breathing new life into a skeletal narrative of these women who are only mentioned in name. How do we respond to the challenge of writing modern Midrash, knowing that we are interpreting the stories and teachings of the Torah through modern lenses?
