Date: Enter from September 11, 2016 to November 24, 2016 (In Gratitude for your participation, this award has been extended to December 7, 2016)

Theme: Gratitude: Where did you find the spark to follow your dreams? Deadline: Enter by midnight PST on November 24, 2016 (now December 7, 2016)

Fees: This competition has a $15usd entrance fee. (We want everyone to be able to participate, please apply for a scholarship to enter the award as necessary.)

2nd Prize – $100 usd and 2 months of Break Into Travel Writing Academy valued at $150

Judges:

Dr. Jessie Voigts

Jessie Voigts has a PhD in International Education, has lived and worked in Japan and London, and traveled around the world. She’s published six books about travel and intercultural learning, with more on the way. Jessie is one of the top 50 travel bloggers in the world, and was named a White House travel blogger with her site, Wandering Educators, a travel library for people curious about the world. She is constantly looking for ways to increase intercultural understanding, and is passionate about study abroad and international education. She founded and directs the Youth Travel Blogging Mentorship Program, teaching teens all around the world. She also publishes Journey to Scotland and i8tonite.
 
Alexa Meisler

Alexa Meisler is a travel podcaster at Break Into Travel Writing and the founder of the travel website 52 Perfect Days. Her passion is the Travel Writer's Academy, which is a group for travel bloggers who are ready to take the leap into blogging more seriously and want to travel more on media trips. Meisler manages the Facebook Groups; The Aspiring Travel Writer and San Diego Travel Writers. She is also the co-leader of Travel Massive San Diego and a member of the The International Food Wine & Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA).
