A Moment in Time to Think – A Decision in Time to Move Forward

Dear all,

This Sunday (September 4) is the 1st of the Hebrew month of Elul, the month preceding Rosh Hashanah.

During Elul, there is a tradition of sounding the Shofar just about every day (except for on Shabbat and on the two days prior to Rosh HaShanah).  Hearing the call stirs our souls and reminds us to get ourselves in order before the Holy Days arrive.

We therefore make time to prepare:

Is there a person we need to contact?
Is there an apology we need to make?
Is there a grudge we won't let go of?
Is there a forgiveness we are withholding?
Is there a bill we haven't paid?
Is there a promise we have yet to honor?
Is there gift we forgot to send?
Is there a thank you we never offered?
Is there an organization that needs our help?

Every day this month offers a moment in time to think – followed by a decision in time to spiritually move forward.

With love and shalom,
