When 20th Century Fox released the controversial movie \”Fight Club\” this fall, they took a gamble that the public would flock to a film that depicted self-selected alienated young men taking out their pent-up anger by beating up on one another. Having cost a reported $68 million just to produce, the film is only anticipated to gross a mere $35 million at the box office domestically.

Challenging “Dogma”

A first draft of the script illegally made its way onto the Internet and into the hands of William Donohue of the Catholic League. Upon reading dialogue about Joseph and Mary\’s sex life and a portrayal of a descendent of Jesus employed by an abortion clinic, Donohue, without having seen the film, launched an all-out assault against \”Dogma.\”

Disney’s Dangerous Course

Just last month, Walt Disney World appeared to be right in the path of a bona fide hurricane. Hurricane Floyd was headed for Florida\’s eastern coast, and Walt Disney World was forced to close its doors for the first time in its 28-year history. But Mickey\’s luck held out. Floyd veered north, and Walt Disney World was saved from potential devastation.
